Day 22: Inspired by a song

Back to the challenge! At least for this post. I have some nail stickers that I am currently wearing. So the song behind this mani is Blood by My Chemical Romance. It’s a great song, one of my favorites from MCR. So, of course, I’ve got blood on my thumb and fourth finger, and a cool red gradient-splash with a white accent on the others. The video is set in a locker room, which is why I have the white square accents, kinda depicting the locker latches.

This was really the only picture I liked, so it’s hard to see the rest of the design, but I took this off pretty fast. I used Sinful Colors Black on Black, red acrylic paint, and A Kiss white striper.DSC03593

Day 6: Violet

So for Day 6, I used a silver glitter Kiss striper to make a herringbone pattern over Zoya Megan. I also filled in random patches with the silver polish. This was probably not the best silver to use because it’s hard to see. On to Day 7!

Day 5: Blue

Ahhhhh, I skipped a couple of days. Oh well. So here are my blue nails. I used Zoya Lillian as my base color and a Kiss nail art black striper to make the zebra stripes. My stripes were pretty awesome at the thumb, but they lagged by the ring and pinky nails. You can see the little polish strings between strokes. Afterwards I ended up adding a couple drops of Zoya Renew, which helped a lot with the formula of the nail polish. I also had some smearing problems with the topcoat- Zoya Armor, saying I only waited around 10 minutes, it probably wasn’t totally dry- my striper was a little goopy too. I definitely want to make this design again.

Triple Stripe Nails Tutorial

Here is a pretty simple tutorial for my striped nails:
First, start with a base color (Zoya Eden).

Then, I placed a piece of tape over half my nail. To avoid picking up some nail polish when you lift up the tape, press the tape on the back of your hand or your finger a few times to get rid of some of the stickiness.

Paint the exposed part of the nail (Zoya Severine) and take off the tape.

Using a striper, paint a thin line where the two colors meet.

Finally, paint two parallel lines on either side of the initial line. Finish off with a topcoat.

Pink and Gold

So I painted my nails using the same design as last post, except the stripes are only on the ring finger, as you can see. I really like how this ended up- I wasn’t sure about the pink and gold. I used Zoya Eden and Severine and a black Kiss striper. That striper is the bomb! It’s great, it gives you really thin lines with a lot of control. Zoya Eden is a really nice pink. I wasn’t expecting to like it because I’m not a pink type of girl but I really like this. It’s bright, but not neon and it doesn’t seem really girly. I’m really liking this design and it will most likely show up again.
