Day 25: Inspired by Fashion

Day 25! This pattern is inspired by one of my shirts, shown below. This design is a simple recreation of the stripes.

Starting with two coats of Zoya Blu, I added a top coat. I then used Sinful Colors Let’s Meet to free hand the yellow section at the top of my third and fourth nails. Next I put on striping tape, making wide stripes. So I didn’t have an exact color to match the darker blue stripes, so I mixed two colors, Zoya Sia and Sinful Colors Sail La Vie, then dipped a cosmetic sponge into the mix, applying it onto the nail.

I bought this shirt pretty recently; it’s a basic t-shirt that I really like and will start wearing a lot once the weather warms up.

I like how the wide stripes turned out on the nails without the yellow block, but looking back I think I should make the stripes more narrow next time. Six more prompts in the challenge and I’ll be done!

Day 23: Inspired by a Movie

I’m back with the 31 day challenge, hoping to finish it ASAP. This mani is inspired by The Little Mermaid, one of my favorite childhood movies. It’s a subtle take on Ariel’s fin, bra, and hair, as the three colors have the potential to easily clash. So I decided to take a more subtle approach and use the colors as a french tip.

Using Sephora’s Formula X Astronomical, I painted on two coats. Next I used Zoya Purity to freehand a white tip in order to make the colors really pop. I then free-handed the vibrant colors (Zoya Livingston, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, Sinful Colors Rise & Shine) over top the white tip.

I hope you liked this manicure, the next prompt is ‘Inspired by a Book.’

Day 22: Inspired by a song

Back to the challenge! At least for this post. I have some nail stickers that I am currently wearing. So the song behind this mani is Blood by My Chemical Romance. It’s a great song, one of my favorites from MCR. So, of course, I’ve got blood on my thumb and fourth finger, and a cool red gradient-splash with a white accent on the others. The video is set in a locker room, which is why I have the white square accents, kinda depicting the locker latches.

This was really the only picture I liked, so it’s hard to see the rest of the design, but I took this off pretty fast. I used Sinful Colors Black on Black, red acrylic paint, and A Kiss white striper.DSC03593

Hoco Nails

I took a short break from the 31 Day Challenge to paint my nails for my school’s Homecoming dance. So I made these to match my dress, which is cream colored. But then Hoco was canceled because the state where I live called a state of emergency because of Hurricane Joaquin. So these are my not-Hoco nails now. Anyway, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black, and using a small brush, I painted on stripes of Zoya Ziv. This was not my idea or design. I have seen this design multiple times and decided to copy it.

Day 20: Watermarble

So this is day is a kind of fail. I attempted to water marble and was saved by only the color I had chosen. It looks okay, but it isn’t really a water marble. I will definitely be trying this again, during or after the challenge is over. This picture is not quite correct, my camera gives the purple I used a blue tone. I used Zoya Belinda and Ibiza, as well as Sinful Colors Snow Me White as a base for my water marble. Sorry I have only been able to post around once a week, school and sports are very demanding.
